More than 100 entrepreneurs, designers, developers, engineers, health care providers and students gathered for Demo Day, a culmination of the 2017 spring AARP + UNC Digital Health Innovation Sprint™.
Hosted by UNC Health Care and UNC School of Medicine’s Center for Health Innovation, Demo Day gave participants across four finalist teams the opportunity to pitch solutions aimed at how wearables – such as smart watches, fitness trackers and smart clothing – can motivate the 50+ population to take their medications as prescribed.
The winning team, Life Ring, received a start-up package including $10,000 cash, six-months free co-working space at American Underground and a potential pilot opportunity with AARP and UNC.
