Calling All Education Technology Entrepreneurs: An SBIR-Funding Webinar
Each year SBIR and its sister program for non-profits, the STTR program, invest in American entrepreneurs to stimulate technological innovation and address national needs. Providing over $2 billion in competitive awards each year, SBIR/STTR are the largest source of early-stage non-dilutive capital (or “seed funding”) for innovative small companies in the United States in areas such as health, energy, and national defense.
In recent years, the SBIR program has been making its mark in the field of education technology (see a few highlights here and here and here), supporting innovators such asFilament Games and Second Avenue Software to develop interactive science learning games, Teachley to develop math games, Mindset Works to develop a multi-media platform to help students apply a growth mindset to learning, and Handhold Adaptive to develop an app to support the needs of students with autism spectrum disorder.
Join Us: On Wednesday, April 22 from 1PM-2:30PM, reps from four Federal agencies will co-host a webinar to discuss opportunities for the development of education learning and assistive technologies through SBIR/STTR. Presentations will detail upcoming funding solicitation timelines and program-specific topics and nuances and will share guidance on what makes a strong application.
The SBIR Education Technology Funding Webinar lineup:
* Ed Metz: U.S. Department of Education SBIR Program
* Glenn Larsen: National Science Foundation SBIR/STTR Program
* Tony Beck: National Institutes of Health SBIR/STTR Program
* Rachael Sack: U.S. Department of Transportation SBIR Program
Please feel free to share with your networks as well.
We hope you can join us!
Sincerely,
SBIR/STTR Team
