Charlie Cummings

Program Manager, BeAM (Be A Maker), UNC College of Arts and Sciences

Charlie Cummings is the Be a Maker (BeAM) makerspace program director. Cummings received his bachelor’s degree in art from Berea College in Kentucky and his MFA from the University of Florida. His artworks can be found in notable collections, including the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, The Crocker Museum and the Dalai Lama’s personal collection. Over the past five years, Cummings has taught digital fabrication, interdisciplinary collaboration and other art and technology courses at the University of Florida and the College of Central Florida. Charlie is excited by the BeAM Makerspace network’s open access philosophy and looks forward to enabling Carolina students, faculty and staff to be makers.
