Trude Amick

Director, Technology Commercialization, UNC Office of Commercialization and Economic Development

Trude Amick is the director of technology commercialization in the UNC Office of Commercialization and Economic Development. She rejoined the office in 2016. Previously, she worked in the Office of Technology Development from 2004 to 2012, managing IP and licensing matters for chemistry, physics, computer science and radiation oncology.

From 2013 to 2016, Trude was director of licensing at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to beginning her university career, Trude worked in industry for 20 years as technical director for SNP, Inc., a small family owned chemical company in Durham, NC and as an industrial R&D chemist for Mead Corporation and Owen-Corning Fiberglass. Trude earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Franklin & Marshall College and her PhD in organic chemistry from The Ohio State University.
