Fit for A Food Hall: A Triangle Food Maker Gathering

January 26, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

For food entrepreneurs, space for retail sales and food production is a big need in the Triangle, and “Food Halls” are becoming a popular solution. Join 100+ food entrepreneurs for an update on four food halls coming to the area and the opportunities that might soon be available for business owners as a result.

We will hear from partners from three food halls who will talk about what type of vendors might be a good fit for their spaces, the factors your should consider before you apply for a vendor spot, and their plans for any shared kitchen space and other incubator-like services.

Our speakers include:
Niall Hanley of Morgan Street Food Hall (opening late Spring 2017)
Kelly Taylor of Blue Dogwood Public Market (opening Winter 2017)
Adair Mueller of Durham Food Hall (opening late Fall 2017)
And 1-2 food makers who will be vendors in these spaces…

Agenda:
5:00 – 6:00pm: Local Bites | Samples of locally made products
6:00 – 6:15pm: Welcome and introductions
6:15 – 7:30pm: Fit for a Food Hall
7:30 – 7:50pm: Audience Q&A
7:50 – 8:00pm: Wrap up, and to time to nibble & mingle
And as at all of our events, we will kick the night off with “Local Bites” where you can sample locally made products from our favorite Triangle food makers. If you have a food product and would like to offer free samples to the group during “Local Bites,” please contact the organizer, Jill Willett, for details.

Triangle Food Makers is a gathering of Raleigh/Durham’s existing food entrepreneurs, those who are thinking about starting a food-related business, and all those who support a strong local food system in the Triangle. We come together in person to share knowledge, to support each other’s projects, and most importantly, to strengthen our sense of cooperation and community.
