Campus Y

The Campus Y is the center for social justice at UNC. The current Y includes over 1500 undergraduate members working in 30 committees and 3 programs. The 30 committees do work on issues of hunger, public health, international development, human rights, education and youth, environmental justice, and more.

UNC Climate Strike

The UNC Climate Strike calls for the university to release and follow a comprehensive sustainability agenda in line with its Three Zeros Plan. Following climate activist Greta Thunberg’s model, students gather outside of South Building to protest the university’s lack of action towards climate change.

The Moxie Project

The Moxie Project is a combined academic and community engagement project that aims to place UNC students who have completed coursework in women’s activism with community organizations for summer internships in order to help them develop activism and community engagement.

NCPIRG

NCPIRG Students is a student-directed, non-partisan, advocacy group at UNC Chapel Hill that defends the environment, protects consumers, and promotes civic engagement. NCPIRG hires professional staff that work with students to do research, education, and grassroots organizing.
