Housing Opportunity Finder
Presentation: Connecting Low-Income Families to Affordable Housing in Quality Neighborhoods
Low-income families struggle to find housing that is both affordable and located in neighborhoods with good schools, low crime, and ample job opportunities. With funding from the C. Felix Harvey Award, we have developed a web app, the Housing Opportunity Finder (HOF), to connect families in Durham and Orange Counties to affordable housing in high-opportunity areas. Given the pressing problems the project addresses, we see a great potential for the web app to benefit other communities as well. Our presentation will showcase the value of the HOF has provided to our local community and how it can positively impact other communities.
