Josmell Perez

Assistant Director, UNC Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs

Josmell Perez serves as the assistant director for multicultural programs and Carolina Latinx Collaborative within the UNC Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs.
Prior to Carolina, he worked as assistant director of admissions and multicultural recruitment director for Moravian College, where he led an initiative that resulted in the doubling of multicultural student enrollment. He also served as an admissions counselor at Ohio University in Athens, where his territory was the northwest part of the state.

Perez was born in Lima, Peru and moved at the age of five with his family to northern New Jersey. He graduated from Muhlenberg College with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Spanish and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from UNC-Chapel Hill. He is currently working on his doctoral degree in education at Carolina.
