Matt Howe joined OTC in January 2020 and manages a portfolio of technologies across the School of Medicine and Adams School of Dentistry. Previously, Matt was a licensing analyst in the Office of Research Commercialization at North Carolina State University, where he managed technologies that included therapeutics and medical devices for human and animal health, food science, and agricultural biotechnology. Matt earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from North Carolina State University and a Ph.D. in pharmacology from Duke University. Following his Ph.D., he was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in the Laboratory of Infectious Diseases and then the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fellow at the UNC Eshelman Institute for Innovation at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Matt is a member of the Association of University Technology Managers and the Licensing Executive Society.
