Assistant Director, Education and Special Initiatives, UNC Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs
Sharbari Dey serves as the assistant director of education and special initiatives in the UNC Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs. She researches, designs, coordinates and manages the delivery of campus and community diversity trainings on issues related to implicit bias, cultural competency, inclusive hiring, workplace climate and leadership development. Dey also consults with campus units on strategic initiatives to advance diversity and address climate concerns. She coordinates the annual faculty and staff Diversity THINKposium, a diversity-based professional development symposium; the National Health Equity Research Webcast, a live broadcast exploring the intersection of health, policy and diversity; and programs such as the Diversity in Higher Education Speaker Series, addressing issues related to educational access and inclusive teaching and learning practices.
