First impressions are often the most lasting ones. That’s why we’re working to make sure that when people visit Chapel Hill, they experience a downtown environment that immediately creates a strong positive impression.
The University, Town and Downtown Partnership have established an adopt-a-block program that will accelerate the beatification of downtown Chapel Hill in a variety of ways. The first phase of the program is focused on the areas of East Franklin Street and South Columbia Street.
Phased-in improvements are beginning during the Fall of 2021, and Carolina student groups will be play a significant role in bringing these beautification plans to life.
