The Eshelman Institute for Innovation (EII) Microincubator, located in Kerr Hall in the Eshelman School of Pharmacy at UNC-Chapel Hill, is now accepting applications from UNC faculty-founded startup companies seeking wet laboratory and office space. The EII Microincubator was founded in 2015 and to date, has been available for leasing by companies that have spun out of the School of Pharmacy. The facility is designed to support up to six companies to further develop their technology or product and includes wet lab space and shared office space. Facilities include cold storage (4 °C fridge and monitored -20/-80 °C freezers) and cell culture suites with biosafety hoods, lab benches, and microscopes. The EII Microincubator is equipped with a high purity water system, liquid N2 cell freezer, rotavapor, and water baths. Additional services include standard housekeeping, laboratory and biohazard waste management, and access to cold room, autoclave, UNC wireless network, printer/scanner/copier, and a conference room.
