Emily Rose Skywark serves as the Design Thinking Fellow at Innovate Carolina, a role that allows her to work with faculty, students, and community partners to optimize design thinking’s mindsets and methodologies by integrating them into research, teaching and practice. Emily was trained in design thinking as part of the design team for HBEH 748: Design Thinking for the Public Good. She is serving as the teaching assistant for the course’s first iteration this spring. In May 2021, Emily will earn a Master of Public Health degree from the Gillings School of Global Public Health, with a concentration in Health Behavior. Emily’s research interests include the pedagogy and adaptation of innovative methods for the advancement of the public good. In her free time, Emily likes to run, hike and catch a workout at her CrossFit gym. She also volunteers to raise and train assistance dogs with Eyes, Ears, Nose and Paws (EENP).
