Nominations Due: Statewide Social Entrepreneurship Competition

November 10, 2015 @ 11:59 pm

This statewide social entrepreneurship competition is a unique opportunity for students across North Carolina. Two ventures in the undergraduate track and two ventures in the graduate track will be selected to represent UNC-Chapel Hill. They will then compete against over 40 ventures across 17 UNC campuses at this statewide social entrepreneurship competition to be held on February, 16, 2016.

Over 500 people are expected to be in attendance at this state-wide social entrepreneurship competition and conference, which will include statewide media coverage, judges from the Board of Governors, students, faculty, administrators, investors, and other high profiled guests. Top finalists will be awarded cash prizes at the competition.

The goal of this conference is to put the collective braintrust of UNC students at work to develop sustainable solutions to local community problems in ways that defy traditional business models. Winners of the competition will receive cash prizes for 1st place, second place, and third place. Click here for further information about the statewide competition.

If you are nominating an undergraduate or graduate student or student-led team at UNC, please submit an online nomination form. Nominations will be accepted until November 10, 2015 at 11:59PM. Student finalists will then be notified and announced as winners during Global Entrepreneurship Week. Two social ventures for the undergraduate student track and two social ventures for the graduate student track will be selected to represent UNC so you may also submit multiple nominations for multiple teams.
