FoodCon 2016 will be a single-day conference on November 11th held at NC State University. The conference will be focused on fostering a discussion around the business of sustainable food. Our plan is to bring together a diverse audience of students, community members, and business people who have an interest in and/or are working in the sustainable food industry. In bringing these people together, we hope to both increase the awareness and understanding of the sustainable food industry as well as support and grow the industry here in North Carolina and throughout the country.
FoodCon was started at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 2014 as a conference for business students to learn about and potentially get involved with the food industry. The conference had panel discussions and keynote speakers focused on sustainability in the industry. In 2015, the conference was held at Duke University with a broader focus on the food industry as a whole.
