Join AITP members and guests to hear John Toebes, Senior Director, Cisco Systems, discuss FIRST Tech Challenge, a program in which teams compete head to head, using a sports model, to design, build and program robots. Teams, including coaches, mentors and volunteers, develop strategy and build robots based on sound engineering principles. Awards are given for the competition as well as for community outreach, design, and other real-world accomplishments. John will describe what it takes to motivate team members – 7th through 12th graders – and how much they can accomplish and surprise their mentors. He will bring along a sample robot and describe the completion process from design and manufacturing to assembly and programming to driving and strategy.
