The Carolina Create-a-thon is an innovation challenge during which students develop ideas to improve some aspect of the Carolina experience.
UNC students work in diverse teams to take an idea as far as possible in a 12-hour timespan. Ideas may range from spaces, services, initiatives, and classes to apps, platforms, products, and programs. Workshop leaders, mentors, and industry experts help guide teams through the ideation process.

The challenge is open to students of all majors, years, and backgrounds. A free event for any UNC student, the Carolina Create-a-thon is fun, with free food and entertainment for all attendees! The final ideas are judged by a panel of distinguished individuals; more than just a competition, this event aims to foster collaboration and creativity in a dynamic and exciting environment.
