Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over 1800 past events in 120 countries around the world in 2014. We believe that entrepreneurship is the most powerful force to improve education outcomes, prepare people for a rapidly changing world, and empower them to play a role in shaping the future.TSW: Trailblazers is a 54-hour experience where participants pitch ideas, collaborate with others who have complementary skill sets, get coaching and produce startups that help solve problems around a variety of topics. Durham-based startup, Trinket, formed at last year’s event and have since raised nearly $400K in funding.
