Skills learned inside the classroom combined with those learned outside the classroom are vital in today’s global economy. But what if you could also absorb another culture and build new relationships while honing your business skills? What experiences would you take away? How would you apply that unique insight to your innovative ideas?
Baaqir Yusuf and Justin Fouts, UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School students and co-founders of video production company Triad Studios, recently traveled to South Africa as part of the university’s Global Immersion Electives (GIE) program. To capture their experience and the impact of the course on students’ lives, they created a video to tell their story and showcase benefits of the program.

Global immersion electives are intensive study abroad programs led by UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School faculty. Participants learn about business and local economics firsthand through meeting with business leaders in local and multinational companies, local government leaders and local students.
As a partner with the business school, Innovate Carolina helped sponsor the trip by providing resources to fund student flights to South Africa.
