Brianna Vickerman
Brianna Vickerman graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in the spring of 2021 with her PhD in chemistry. During her time as a graduate student in Professor David Lawrence’s lab, she invented a targeted drug delivery system that is capable of releasing therapeutics specifically at diseased sites by using light as an external signal. Brianna is now working as a postdoctoral researcher to continue to expand on her work and explore the potential of developing this technology for commercialization. In addition to her doctoral research and startup aspirations, Brianna has taken several business classes, worked as a graduate student consultant for the Carolina Graduate Consulting Group, and has been on the leadership team for three student organizations at UNC-Chapel Hill. Brianna is excited for the opportunity to be a part of the Venture Catalyst Program as both a Fellow and a founder to further enrich her business and entrepreneurial skills.
