Vice President, Center for Health Innovation, UNC Health Care and UNC School of Medicine
Carol Lewis is the vice president the UNC Center for Health Innovation. Lewis directs innovation efforts across the UNC School of Medicine and UNC Health Care System with a focus on initiating, evaluating and supporting the adoption of disruptive innovations in the delivery and financing of health care that are patient centered, improve health outcomes and lower costs. Primary areas of focus for the innovation team include the development of partnerships and collaborations with other industry and non-industry innovators (individuals and companies), the funding and creation of pilot programs to evaluate innovative ideas, and the promotion of an innovation culture within the school and health care system. Lewis holds a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from Lafayette College and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She has more than 20 years of experience in health care administration and top-tier strategy consulting.
