Harmen Steele, PhD
Commercialization Manager
Harmen Steele joined the Office of Technology Commercialization in 2023 as a Commercialization Manager. He previously served as a member of The National Cancer Institute’s Technology Transfer Center, where he worked to commercialize a wide variety of oncology and HIV related technologies. He is also an Association of University Technology Managers member and serves AUTM’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee. Harmen earned a BS in both Biology and Biochemistry from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia. He earned his PhD in Biochemistry and Biophysics from the University of Montana. Harmen has also held Postdoctoral Researcher positions with both the Northwest Biophysics Consortium and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
