Irene is a PhD candidate in the Department of Chemistry, where she is advised by Prof. Frank Leibfarth. Her research is focused on developing new materials for remediation of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from ground and surface water. Irene hopes to develop complementary expertise in science policy and sustainable innovation from the CIPG. Outside of the lab, she can usually be found on a run or bike ride.
