Kacia Vines

Masters Student, Gillings School of Global Public Health and School of Social Work

Kacia Vines is studying public health in the Department of Health Behavior at the Gillings School of Global Public Health and social work in the Department of Community, Management, Policy, and Practice at the School of Social Work. She is interested in addressing health equity at the intersection of youth empowerment, mental health, and restorative justice in Black communities. Outside of school, Kacie loves to play sports, hike, and do different adventures (i.e. skydiving). Through the CIPG certificate program, Kacia is interested in integrating innovative methods and tools in the design, development, and implementation process that supports health equity. Through design thinking and systems, she hopes to address oppressive and racist systems that disenfranchise marginalized populations.
