Kyle Mcquillan

Lead Design Thinking Fellow, Innovate Carolina; PhD Student, Department of Romance Studies

Kyle serves as the design thinking fellow at Innovate Carolina, where she drafts and contributes to ongoing design strategy. She also plans and facilitates design thinking trainings for faculty, staff, and students on campus. Kyle is pursuing her PhD in Romance Studies in Literatures, Languages, and Cultures of the Iberian Peninsula and the Americas. She is interested in the intersections of human-centered design and pedagogy to make literature a more accessible and equitable tool in and out of the classroom. She is currently using design thinking methods to begin her dissertation project connecting narratives of aging and technology to better address the needs of community members seeking elder care. When she is not reading for work, Kyle loves to read for fun, cook, and paddleboard on Jordan Lake.
