Minna McFarland

Minna is a fourth-year neuroscience PhD candidate conducting research in the lab of Dr. Donita Robinson. Her dissertation focuses on allopregnanolone, a steroid hormone that may be a better alternative to benzodiazepines, and its pharmacological effect on dopamine release and motivated behavior. Throughout her scientific training, Minna has immersed herself in basic research experiences with high translational significance. This led her to seek opportunities that bridge basic science and direct impact on people. Minna is enthusiastic about being part of the Venture Catalyst Program to acquire skills that will aid in her long-term goal of translating scientific discovery into products that impact human health.
