Learn how University of North Carolina at Chapel-Hill startup companies are making an impact on the technology community at the Council for Entrepreneurial Development’s (CED) 2018 Tech Conference, a premier event for technology entrepreneurs in the Southeast.

Held September 12-13 in Raleigh, the conference will feature four UNC and UNC-affiliated startups that will share their story and their company’s progress with industry entrepreneurs and visionaries, investors and corporate leaders.

“This conference is a great way to showcase innovation at UNC,” says Sheryl Waddell, director, Innovate Carolina Global Network. “We value this opportunity for company leaders to share what their businesses are doing with the technology, entrepreneurial and investment communities.”

Many UNC companies that participate in CED conferences receive support through Innovate Carolina and Launch Chapel Hill, an international award-winning startup accelerator and coworking space. Launch Chapel Hill offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to immediately get plugged into the entrepreneurial community in Chapel Hill, UNC and the Triangle through networking events and shared space with other entrepreneurs right in the heart of downtown Chapel Hill.

Carolina companies that will present at the conference include:

Clinical Tools, a company creating virtual reality experiences that engage and immerse users in encounters and challenges that affect health. Founded by Mary Metcalf and Brad Tanner, the company utilizes the potential of life-like experiences to motivate and build skills.

Fixional, an editorial tool for reviewing and improving writing. Founded by Pierce Gaynor, the AI-powered editorial software allows media and publishing companies to review and proofread writing at scale, and writers can use Fixional for copy, line and developmental edits.

measur.io, a company that combines real-time environmental measurements with advanced analytics and relevant external data. This venture enables growers (agriculture, golf, turf) to accurately water, fertilize and seed. Founded by Mike Prorock and Tom Rump, mesur.io allows for instant action and adjustment based on current conditions.
