Carolina Innovations Seminar: Innovations from the UNC/NC State Department of Biomedical Engineering

Founded in 2003, the UNC/NC State Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering is a unique collaboration between two flagship universities with a goal of uniting engineering and medicine to improve lives. This month we will feature speakers from both institutions describing novel research programs in biomedical engineering:

Ashley Brown, PhD – “Wound-targeting therapies to promote tissue regeneration”

Scott Magness, PhD – “SeqQuest LLC: Democratizing single-cell RNA-sequencing analysis”

David Zaharoff, PhD – “Personalized cancer immunotherapy through intratumoral vaccination”

Zhen Gu, PhD – “Smart drug delivery by living cells, synthetic cells and dead cells”

Fran Ligler, PhD – “The winding path to technology transition”

Logistics

This year the OCED Carolina Innovation seminars will be held entirely in the Great Room at Top of the Hill Restaurant & Brewery at the corner of Franklin and Columbia streets. The seminar runs from 5:30-6:30 p.m., followed immediately by a networking reception in the same space.
